Jacob Kingston is the founder and CEO of Washakie Renewable Energy, parent company of the various members of the WRE Group of Plymouth, Utah. Jacob Kingston’s companies are all focused on the production of biofuels through waste reclamation and seed oil harvesting, which can provide a cleaner burning and sustainable alternative to diesel fuel.
Jacob Kingston earned his PhD in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah in 2006, with studies including research on combustion and tracking non-spherical particles through boiler systems. While there, he served as a laboratory instructor on several subjects, such as advanced thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Throughout this period, he also worked and interned with several other companies involved in energy production, agricultural equipment, and hydraulic and pneumatic machinery, which are all vital components of the WRE Group’s combined operations.
Today, Jacob Kingston continues to contribute to the development of efficient and environmentally sound energy production as a member of several interested organizations, including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, the Sierra Club, and the Combustion Institute.
